What is the appropriate tire pressure?
Many people forget to calibrate their car tires or do not even know that they should be calibrated, and if they go to the station, they are confused about the appropriate tire pressure for their car. So how do you know what the appropriate tire pressure is?
The appropriate tire pressure is usually listed in the car's manuals, but there is a plate stating the tire pressure that is usually located on the gas cap, or on the side of the front door candle.
Tips to follow :
1. It is preferable to adhere to what is specified in the car’s catalog when supplying the car’s tires and measuring the appropriate pressure, because if the pressure is less than required, the tire’s friction with the ground will increase, which will increase gasoline consumption.
2. The air pressure in the tires must be adjusted while they are cold before the start of the trip, as hot tires give an unreal reading of the air pressure.
3. The air pressure in the tires must be adjusted at least once a week, and the “wrap” of each wheel should be checked and the cover should be placed on it to ensure that there is no air leakage.
4. When filling the tires, do not increase the air pressure more than necessary, as this leads to a decrease in their lifespan in addition to the discomfort of the car’s occupants due to their increased sensitivity to bumps.
5. Avoid negligence when rising and falling in the air, as negligence leads to rapid damage to the car’s shock absorbers and the front suspension group and affects the car’s balance.
Four things to avoid in tires :
1. Be careful not to calculate the age of the tire from the date of use and not from the date of manufacture.
2. Failure to supply and control the air pressure inside the tires leads to an increase in the braking distance
3. Beware that low air pressure in the tires leads to the tire heating up and exposes it to explosion and wear.
4. Beware of the misconception that the tire must be supplied with less than the appropriate pressure in the summer because the air temperature leads to an increase in tire pressure, and this is not true.
