Deco Plaster 102 is available in a variety of colours. Special colors are also available subject to minimum order quantities and additional fees. For more details see the Decorete® color chart.

    Surface preparation:

Cure/dry new concrete 28 days. Cracks, voids and holes on old concrete must be repaired before applying Deco Plaster 102. The surface must be free of dirt, paint, sludge, scum and other contaminants.

For maximum bonding, apply Deco Bond 500 to smooth, dense or non-porous substrates before applying Deco Plaster 102.

Wet the uncoated substrate with Deco Bond 500 with drinking water before applying Deco Plaster 102. If the substrate has been treated with Deco Bond 500, no water is needed.

    Mixing instructions:

One 30kg bag of Deco Plaster 102 requires approximately 6 liters of drinking water to produce a suitable consistency.

Spray homogenization may require up to 8.0 liters of water.

In either mixture, the amount of water used should be uniform.

    1. Mix Deco Plaster 102 at slow speed

Rotary blender with rubber blades. High-speed or prolonged mixing will trap excess air.

    1. With the blender running, add 1/2 the required amount of water and slowly add the Deco Plaster 102 sachet.
    2. Add more water for a smooth, workable consistency. Continue mixing for 3 to 5 minutes.

. Stop the mixer and allow the material to thicken and set for further homogeneity for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

    1. Turn on the blender and mix for an additional 1 to 2 minutes. Add water as needed to achieve desired consistency.

    Application method:

To produce uniform layers and color, Deco Plaster 102 should be applied by experienced workers using similar application techniques and tools. Lighter colors can be smoother and softer after finishing. Darker colors show the greatest color uniformity and intensity upon application.

Apply Deco Plaster 102 with sufficient pressure to ensure the material is firmly applied and complete coverage of the substrate.

Apply an even layer of material to the surface, then immediately double it over with a second trowel. Allow Deco Plaster 102 to dry and harden slightly before installation.

    Spraying:

Applicators must be experienced in using spray equipment designed specifically for cement-based materials.

Apply Deco Plaster 102 using a professional type high output plaster spray gun or air sprayer (hopper gun). Spray a thin, even layer of Deco Plaster 102 over the surface for uniform absorption. Hold the spray nozzle at a uniform distance at a 90 degree angle from the surface.

Immediately double up with a final coat before the first coat loses its surface shine. Spray on natural separation such as corners, control joints, expansion joints, roof lines, or wall and ceiling openings.

    Processing:

Deco Plaster 102 should not be cured with water, only spray cured, or Deco Guard used as curing agent

    Field samples:

Before starting work, create a field sample or mockup using all materials and systems that will be used in the actual construction process. Deco Plaster 102 must be mixed in complete quantities, using all job site procedures. Do not mix by hand. Obtain the owner or architect's approval of color, texture and coverage rates before starting work. Keep the model or field sample until the project is completed.

    Coverage :

The following coverage rates are approximate and for estimation purposes only. Texture, thickness and application techniques will determine the amount of Deco Plaster 102 required.

One 30kg bag of Deco Plaster 102 will cover approximately 15 square metres.

    Cleaning instructions:

Clean mixing and application equipment with water immediately after use.

Clean up spills, overspray, stains or excess surfaces before materials set.

    warning:

Deco Plaster 102 is subject to efflorescence on the surface, and a suitable proofing system is recommended.

Furthermore, it is advisable to use a sealing layer; A wide range of products are available to meet different requirements. For more information, see our waterproof products.

    Contraindications for use:
